Primate(2025)

This movie wastes no time getting down to business and I like that; it's a movie about a killer chimpanzee, no need to beat around the bush or set some grand stage for what's to come. I'd say that tonally this movie is more violent and brutal than it is campy/comedic. Sure there are funny moments, but it's not Evil Dead 1 or 2 (strictly talking in terms of campy tone). Violent, enraged, and scary monkey ripping humans apart with sheer chimpanzee strength? Check. Dumbass teenagers making dumbass decisions? Check. Moments where you're going to scream at the TV at how there was a much better decision to be made? Check. I don't know what else you want from a killer monkey movie. For what it is, it's a well-made and tight monkey slasher. I do recommend this film.
