A videographer takes a one-day cabin gig with a client who won't let him leave.
Aaron, a struggling freelance videographer, answers a Craigslist ad offering one thousand dollars to spend the day filming a man named Josef at a remote mountain cabin. Josef claims he is terminally ill and wants to leave a video diary for his unborn son. The longer Aaron stays, the harder his client becomes to read.

Overall
Aaron, a freelance videographer, drives into the Sierras in response to a Craigslist ad offering one thousand dollars to spend the day filming a stranger named Josef. Josef greets him with hugs and explains he has a terminal brain tumor and wants to leave a 'My Life'-style tape for his unborn son. Filming begins immediately and Josef's behavior is intense from the start — he asks Aaron to film him in the bathtub miming 'tubby time' for the child, drags Aaron on a hike to a 'healing pool' for a tearful flute solo, and produces a wolf mask he calls Peachfuzz that he says his father once used to terrorize him, then dances in it around the cabin.
Josef's confessions turn darker through the afternoon — he describes how his wife came to be pregnant in terms that imply assault. Aaron tries to leave; Josef blocks his car, then apologizes profusely and convinces him to stay through to the end of the shoot. Aaron drives home that night unsettled but alive.
DVDs begin arriving at Aaron's house. Each one is Josef alone with the camera: in the Peachfuzz mask outside Aaron's home, in Aaron's yard, narrating how much he has come to love Aaron and how he watched him sleep. One disc casually notes that Josef has no wife and no unborn son. Another simply states that he is going to kill Aaron. Aaron takes the discs to police, who dismiss him. The packages keep arriving.
Josef proposes a final meeting via DVD — a public park bench, midday, to apologize face to face and put an end to it. Aaron goes with his camera rolling, sits on the bench, and scans the area nervously. Josef approaches silently from behind wearing the Peachfuzz mask and carrying an axe, embraces Aaron from behind, and buries the axe in his head.
The final scene shows Josef back at his cabin, calmly logging Aaron's tapes onto a shelf alongside identical recordings from many previous victims, confirming a long-running pattern. He records a fresh self-tape, smiling at the camera, and moves on to his next Craigslist ad.
