The End of Oak Street(2026)

I don't really know who the movie is made for. If you're a child, it's not quite family and kid friendly enough and is too frightening. For an adult, it's not scary or gruesome enough to scratch that monster itch. That only leaves one option. This movie was made for dinosaur fans. Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor are who we know them to be and they're established so I don't know what I can tell you other than that they are about as good as they can be for parents who are thrust in a dino worm hole situation. The family dynamics are less cheesy than you'd expect though - they all seem to fit in their roles naturally and nothing seems forced or nauseatingly cliche. Honestly that was a breath of fresh air, especially if you saw the trailer. The dinosaurs are fine. Whoever designed them definitely took to heart Dr. Alan Grant's wisdom about raptors having more in common with birds than we thought. What I mean by that is they have feathers. The action is fine. Dinos are fine. Nothing about the monster design and action is exceptional. I can catch glimpses of David Robert Mitchell's horror fingerprints throughout - mostly through his slow panning shots that capture uncanniness, usually through a mix of suburban everyday life entangled with some type of horrific entity or thing. Who can i recommend this to? Anyone looking for some of that monster horror with a dinosaur twist. It never reaches the original park levels of terror and awesomeness though - but it's fun I guess.
