How fast can you swim?
The tide is rising. The island is shrinking. The crocodile is patient.
A group of tourists on a wildlife river cruise in Australia's Northern Territory stray into restricted wetlands and find their boat rammed and capsized by a massive saltwater crocodile. Stranded on a tiny mud island as the tide rises and daylight fades, they have one problem: the only way to shore runs through the water. And the crocodile is still there.

Overall
American travel writer Pete McKell joins a small group of tourists on a river cruise through Australia's remote Northern Territory, led by local guide Kate Ryan. Responding to a distress flare, the tour ventures into restricted wetlands — and their boat is struck and capsized by a massive territorial saltwater crocodile.
The survivors reach a tiny mud island in the middle of the river. It is shrinking. The tide comes in twice a day and will fully submerge their refuge within hours. The crocodile circles. Daylight is running out. Each attempt to reach shore — a makeshift rope line, debris rafts — is met by the crocodile with speed and precision. Several tourists are taken. Others die in the attempts.
Kate is dragged to the crocodile's den: a cave in the riverbank where it caches prey. Pete follows her in, descending into the dark with whatever he has left. He kills the crocodile with a flare gun in the tight confines of the den and pulls Kate out. She dies from her injuries on the riverbank, just short of safety.
Pete is found by rescuers the following morning and airlifted out. The river returns to silence.
