Tape 56 — A group of petty criminals who film their own vandalism and assaults are hired to break into a suburban house and steal a specific videotape. They find an old man dead in his chair facing a wall of static-filled TVs, surrounded by dozens of unlabeled VHS cassettes. They take turns watching the tapes, while one by one they disappear and the corpse vanishes between cuts.

Amateur Night — Three friends bring home Lily, a strange wide-eyed woman from a bar, one wearing camera-glasses to secretly film. Lily transforms into a feral winged creature with claws and razor teeth, kills two of them, partially devours one, then drags the camera-wearer into the sky as bat wings sprout from her back.

Second Honeymoon — Sam and Stephanie's road trip is interrupted by a girl asking for a ride. An intruder breaks into their motel room at night, films them sleeping, then returns the next night and slits Sam's throat. Stephanie helps dispose of the body — the intruder is her secret lover, the same hitchhiker from earlier.

Tuesday the 17th — Wendy leads three friends to a remote lake claiming her old friends died there. A glitching killer with VHS-tracking distortion stalks and murders them. Wendy admits she brought them as bait to lure the killer she's been hunting; her plan fails, the killer impales her, and the camera shows him preserved as static.

The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger — Emily video-chats with her boyfriend James about strange noises and a lump under her arm. She cuts the arm open on camera and finds something inside. A child apparition appears in the apartment. The reveal: aliens have been impregnating her under James's instruction; the lump was an embryo, which the aliens harvest. James later video-chats with another woman showing the same symptoms.

10/31/98 — Four friends in Halloween costumes go to a party at the wrong address. In the attic they find what looks like a staged exorcism — a bound woman, hooded chanters, ghostly figures. Realizing the supernatural threat is real, they flee with the woman. The house turns against them with poltergeist phenomena. They escape in their car but her ghostly hands erupt from the dashboard; the car crashes and all four die.

The frame closes on the last burglar watching tapes alone as the old corpse rises and walks off screen, screams echoing from elsewhere in the house.
