13 Movies Like Resident Evil (2026)

James Gunn's Slither is set in a small South Carolina town taken over by an alien parasite that turns people into tentacled creatures and merges their bodies. Like Resident Evil, it cuts from a scare straight to a gross-out joke. Its fear score, 4.0, is almost the same as Resident Evil's 4.1, and it scores 7.4 overall.

Cregger compared Resident Evil to Evil Dead II before it came out. Bruce Campbell's Ash spends a night in a cabin fighting things that won't stay dead, and most of the comedy is physical. It scores 8.3 overall and 3.0 for fear.
